Irvine High clinched the outright title in the Pacific Valley League with a 47-17 victory over Beckman Friday night at Irvine Stadium.
Irvine was awarded two forfeit victories in scheduled games against Woodbridge and University, who were unable to field teams due to injuries in the abbreviated spring season. So the Vaqueros will finish 3-0 in league.

Irvine quarterback Beck Moss threw four touchdown passes Friday night, tying a school record. He completed 13 of 20 passes for 258 yards. Moss threw TD passes to four different receivers and also ran for a TD.
Kade Zimmerman, his top receiver, had another big night. He caught four passes for 126 yards and one touchdown.
“He looked amazing tonight,” Irvine Coach Tom Ricci said of Zimmerman. “They even double covered him, but it didn’t matter.”
Irvine’s leading rusher was Cameron Goods with 48 yards on seven carries and one touchdown. Samuel Lynch also had two catches for 44 yards and a touchdown and Corey Beck hauled in a 12-yard TD catch.
Ricci praised the efforts of his players.
“I’m ecstatic about the win,” he said. “Our boys had this game in their sights all along knowing that a league title was going to have to go through a very physical Beckman team. Coach (Marcello) Giuliano had a great scheme set up for us and they punched us in the mouth early, but our boys didn’t back down.
“In every game this season, we have been scored on first and our boys just figure we are going to answer back. Their confidence level is through the roof. This is Irvine’s first league title in 17 years. Our seniors definitely led us to this point. I’m so proud of them.”
The rest of the Pacific Valley League includes University and Woodbridge, who both suspended their seasons resulting in forfeits. Beckman will wind up 2-1 with forfeit wins over Woodbridge and University.
Irvine will wrap up the season next Friday with a non-league game at home against Dana Hills while Beckman will face Rancho Alamitos in a non-league game vs. Rancho Alamitos.
