University’s High’s long-time boys basketball coach Mike Dinneen will not return as the Trojans coach, Athletic Director Tom Shrake said Saturday.
“Mike Dinneen is no longer the boys basketball coach at Uni,” Shrake said in a statement. “We have already begun our search for our next coach.
“Mike will be pursuing other coaching interests and we wish him nothing but the best of luck and the utmost gratitude for his nearly three decades as our head coach.”
No replacement has been made and no specific reason was given for the change.
University finished 14-15 overall this past season and after the season, Dinneen said the future appeared bright for the squad and gave every indication he was planning on returning. (Please click here for a season-ending report on the team)
