Mater Dei 62, JSerra 53: The Monarchs (17-5, 3-3) captured a Trinity League victory Friday night. Brannon Martinsen had 26 points and seven rebounds, Owen Verna scored 18 points and Scotty Belnap had eight points. JSerra (14-7, 1-4) was led by Aidan Fowler, who scored 20 points and Diego Martinez, who had 10 points.
Mater Dei faces Crean Lutheran (16-5) Saturday at 3 p.m. at Colony High School in the State Preview Classic.
Villa Park 76, El Modena 57: The Spartans (16-7, 5-1) were led by Mickey Archer, who had 25 points and five 3-pointers and three rebounds. Jack Sharar had 15 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, Dakari Harris scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds and Sabeel Khan scored nine points for Villa Park.
El Dorado 48, Esperanza 41: The Golden Hawks won a North Hills League game. Cooper Bladow and Nathan Meek had 13 points each and Jacob Arce eight points for El Dorado (14-10, 1-1).
San Juan Hills 51, Trabuco Hills 50: The Stallions held on for the win and are now tied for first place in the South Coast League. Nate Brosch had 14 points and Mason Hodges 12 points to lead San Juan Hills.
Portola 78, Irvine 57: Portola (14-9, 3-2) was led by Colin Huang and Deven Daniel, who had 19 points each in the Pacific Coast League game. Irvine (14-12, 2-4) was led by Cooper Stearns, who scored 15 points and Daniel Shin, who had 14 points.
Northwood 60, Laguna Hills 55: The Timberwolves won a Pacific Coast League game on the road. Zaid Yunis and Aditya Sheth had 19 points each for Northwood. J Liu had 10 points and eight rebounds for Northwood (12-12, 3-3).
Beckman 71, Woodbridge 50: The Patriots (12-10, 3-2) captured a Pacific Coast League victory. Miguel Llanes had 19 points, Caydon Do 17 points and Abhi Archarya 14 points to lead Beckman. Woodbridge is 12-13 overall and 4-2 in the PCL.
Foothill 72, Brea Olinda 32: The Knights (22-2, 6-0) were led by Carlo Billings, who had 19 points, four rebounds and four assists. Rohan Kamdar had 10 points and Isaiah Bernard and Rocco Gaffoglio eight points each.
