Senior shortstop Keana Pola, who led Godinez High’s softball team to its first CIF title, has been named the Division 4 player of the year and the Grizzlies’ head coach Ed Medina has been named the coach of the year.
Keanna Pola was also named the MVP of the Golden West League title.
The awards were announced Thursday by the LA 84 Foundation and selected by the CIF-SS Softball Coaches Committee.
Pola’s sister, sophomore infielder Savannah Pola, was named to the CIF Division 4 first team.
Godinez captured the first CIF softball title by a Santa Ana Unified School District team by defeating El Segundo 15-1 at Deanna Manning Stadium on May 18.
