Infielder and pitcher Jaden Hoang-Tieu from Woodbridge High School has committed to attend school and play baseball at Sonoma State University, Woodbridge Coach Ryan Brucker said Monday.
“Our Warrior family could not be more proud,” Brucker said. “This is the culmination of a lot of hard work and tireless effort on Jaden’s part. He’s one of the hardest workers I’ve ever coached. He has turned himself into an excellent high school baseball player and earned the opportunity to compete at the next level. As one of the captains of our team this year, Jaden brings a competitive spirit that is second to none, and leadership skills that will benefit him long after his baseball career is over. I think Sonoma State will be an outstanding fit for Jaden and can’t wait to follow his career there.”
“I committed to Sonoma State because they offered me a home to continue my passion for baseball while acquiring amazing academics,” Hoang-Tieu said in a statement issued by the baseball program. “I felt that the environment was perfect for me and I can’t wait to do my part for the next four years.”
