CIF baseball playoffs: Top seeds, Orange County match-ups for first round games

CIF officials on Friday announced pairings for the 2026 baseball playoffs.

There will be 271 teams in nine divisions.

For the first time, Division 1 is a double elimination pool play tournament that begins on Tuesday, May 12 with first round games.

Single elimination games for divisions 2, 4, 6 and 8 will begin on Thursday, May 14 and games for divisions 3, 5, 7 and 9 will begin on Friday, May 15.

The championship finals are slated for Friday, May 29 and Saturday, and Saturday, May 29-
30 at Goodwin Field at Cal State Fullerton (Friday and Saturday) and Loan Mart Field, Rancho
Cucamonga on Saturday.

This is the second year of using current regular season data in determining playoff groupings, CIF officials said.

OC HIGH SEEDS

—Trinity League runner-up Orange Lutheran is seeded fourth in Division 1. Norco is seeded first, Harvard Westlake second and Sierra Canyon third.

–—In Division 2, Crestview League runner-up Villa Park (19-8-1) is seeded first and Trinity League No. 3 team Servite is seeded third.

—-In Division 4, Sunset League No. 3 team Marina (13-15) is seeded third and Freeway League runner-up Canyon (14-14) is seeded fourth.

—In Division 8, Orange League champion Los Amigos (17-15) is seeded first.

AT-LARGE BERTHS

—-Trinity League entry Santa Margarita (15-13) earned a berth in Divison 2.

—Corona del Mar (14-13) earned a berth in Division 3.

—-Troy (17-11) from the North Hills League earned a berth in Division 6.
