Pony Bronco 12-and-under youth baseball teams from Garden Grove, Cypress and Newport Harbor will represent Orange County in the West-Zone Southern California Super Regional beginning Thursday at York Field in Whittier.
Cypress is the No. 1 team from Orange County after winning the regional tournament Sunday at Hicks Canyon Park in Irvine.
Cypress clinched the top spot with a 10-0 victory over Garden Grove.
Garden Grove, which finished with a 3-1 record and defeated Newport Harbor 4-3 on Sunday, is the No. 2 team and Newport Harbor is the No. 3 squad.
In opening round games on Thursday, Cypress will take on Simi Valley at 5 p.m. and Garden Grove will face Tecolote at 7:45 p.m.
Newport Harbor will open up on Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Southeast 1.
Sixteen teams are in the double elimination tournament which continues through Tuesday, July 23.
There are also teams from Escondido, Santa Ynez and Camarillo.
Admission is $5 for fans 13 and older and children ages 6 to 12 will be admitted for $2.
York Field is located at the corner of Slauson and Santa Fe Springs in Whittier. Two fields will be used for the tournament.
