Players from Fullerton High School’s Freeway League championship team helped the Freeway League defeat the Golden West League 1-0 in the final game of the Ryan Lemmon Showcase Saturday at Ryan Lemmon Stadium.
The event was presented by the Ryan Lemmon Foundation and Guy Lemmon and tournament director Dick Owens.
George Papadatos pitched one inning, allowing no hits and no runs, Mathew Carbajal pitched two innings allowing no earned runs and A.J Hernandez pitched one inning allowing no runs, according to Indians Coach Shaun Hill.
Offensively, Kyle Kim and Niko Savage were 1 for 2, Conor Sunderland had a walk, run scored and a stolen base and Nate Norman was 1 for 2 with an RBI and a double.
In the 1:30 p.m. game the Pacific Coast League held on to defeat the Empire League 9-6 in front of a big crowd at Ryan Lemmon Stadium. Jake Amundson of Woobridge had a home run in the bottom of the first inning for the PCL.
