Four Orange County high school baseball teams have been selected to compete in the CIF Southern California Regional Baseball Championships beginning Tuesday, May 30.
The semifinals will be on Thursday, June 1 and the finals on Saturday, June 3 at home sites. The highest seeded teams get home games.
Northern California teams will also be competing in championships this week to end the high school season. There are no state finals in baseball.
All the games are scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
Santa Margarita, the CIF Division 1 runner-up, is seeded first in Division I and will face No. 8 Carlsbad Tuesday in the opening round at Santa Margarita.
CIF Division 1 champion JSerra opted out of the regional.
Orange Lutheran is seeded sixth in Division I and plays at No. 3 Eastlake Tuesday. Orange Lutheran (19-11) lost to Santa Margarita 5-1 in the CIF Division 1 semifinals.
In Division IV, CIF Division 4 champion Canyon is seeded No. 1 and will host No. 8 Sylmar Tuesday.
Crean Lutheran, the Division 4 runner-up is seeded second in Division IV and hosts No. 7 Calexico Tuesday. With two wins each, Canyon and Crean Lutheran would have a rematch in the finals.
