Former Fairmont Prep basketball standout Myles Che has transferred to UC Irvine’s men’s basketball team, according to university officials.
Che played for Joedy Gardner at Fairmont Prep before beginning his college career.

Che played one season at University of Chattanooga, averaging 7.5 points while making a team best 52 percent of his field goals. Che had seven double figure scoring games including his high of 22 points (7 of 12 FG) which came in the team’s victory over Louisville.

The guard finished with 211 points, 66 rebounds, 54 assists and 18 steals.

“Myles was our top guard target in the transfer market and I am excited to add him to our experienced group of veterans who expect to contend for championships in the coming season,” said UCI Coach Russell Turner in a statement from athletic officials.
“He is a natural point guard and an excellent fit with our returning players because of his intelligence, his competitiveness, and his passing talent. Myles has a bright future as an Anteater.”
