Northwood and Laguna Hills football teams will be out to bring home state championships this weekend.
The two teams, both members of the Pacific Coast League, won Southern California Regional titles last weekend.
Northwood, coached by JC Clarke, will play at Escalon Saturday at 6 p.m. for the 4AA championship. Escalon is seeking its third state title. Laguna Hills, coached by John Lester, will meet Bellarmine at Bellarmine Saturday at 6 p.m. for the 3A title.
The two teams are among 16 squads making their first appearance in a state title game, according to CIF State officials.
Five games, divisions open through 2-A, will be held Friday, Dec. 9 and Saturday, Dec. 10 at Saddleback College. The open division game will feature St. John Bosco meeting San Mateo at 8 p.m.
Tickets may only be purchased through the GoFan app.
For games at Saddleback College, tickets are $17 for adults and $10 for high school students, seniors (65 and over) and children, according to officials.
