Five Orange County high school boys water polo teams are ranked first in their divisions in the CIF playoffs that begin Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Trinity League champion JSerra is first in the open division, Laguna Beach is first in Division 1, San Clemente No. 1 in Division 2, Portola first in Division 3 and Crean Lutheran, the CIF defending champion in Division 6, is first in Division 4.
In the open division, Newport Harbor is seeded second, Harvard-Westlake third and Mater Dei fourth.
Division 1 consists of all Orange County teams. Besides top-seeded Laguna Beach, Corona del Mar is second, Orange Lutheran third and Foothill fourth.
Dana Hills is second in Division 2, Northwood is third in Division 4 behind Pacific Coast League rival Portola and Westminster is fourth in Division 5.
Playoffs begin Tuesday and Wednesday. Loara, the No. 3 team from the Garden Grove League, hosts San Gorgonio in a wild card match Tuesday.
There are 157 teams that will compete in seven divisions. The finals will be Saturday, Nov. 12 at the Willliam Woollett Aquatics Complex in Irvine.
