It was a day of no-hitters Tuesday in Orange County.
Cameron Repetti of Cypress had 11 strikeouts and came within an out of throwing a perfect game as the Centurions defeated Tustin 1-0 in an Empire League game at Cypress.
“Cameron did a really good job attacking the hitters with his fastball,” said Cypress Coach John Weber. “Also, it was a great baseball play by Bradon Murphy, reading a ball in the dirt and scoring the one run.”
Empire League leader Cypress (16-3, 3-0) scored its run in the fifth inning on two hits and a walk pitch. Tustin fell to 8-6-3 and 2-1.
Cypress, ranked first in Orange County, made one error.
Cypress last no-hitter was by Josh Landry last year, Weber said.
Also Wednesday, Loara’s Patrick Monroe threw a no-hitter for the Saxons as Loara captured a 1-0 victory over Golden Valley. Monroe had 14 strikeouts.
The Saxons are 9-7 overall.
