Crean Lutheran lineman Maximus Bahou has decided to commit to play football for Cal Lutheran University, his father David said Friday.
Bahou, a second team All-Empire League selection, received 13 offers from NAIA and Division 3 schools, including St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn. and Whitworth University in Spokane, Wash., David Bahou said.
“The combination of academics (five-year M.B.A. program). network and athletic facilities were what sold Maximus,” he said.
“We visited nine schools on recruiting trips including Wheaton College in Illinois, St. John’s U., Whitworth U. and Carthage College in Wisconsin, but Maximus decided that he was indeed a California boy.”
David Bahou said that he and his wife Tina, “will be all smiles on signing day April 17, and we are excited that we will be able to continue seeing him play football live.”
In addition, the 6-0, 270-pound Bahou has been invited to try out for the USA National Team Football Regional in Los Angeles in May, David Bahou said.
