Crean Lutheran’s girls basketball team captured a big 56-44 Empire League victory over Cypress Tuesday night.
“Girls basketball defeated Cypress for their first loss at home this season,” said Crean Lutheran Coach Bianca Ziemann. “It was a very big win for our girls. We solely have regained second place in the Empire League (7-2).”
Crean Lutheran was led by Taylor Feldman, who scored 24 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had three assists and three steals. Emily Reed had 11 points, made three 3-point field goals and grabbed six rebounds. Maya Bland had five points, 15 rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Freshman Gianna DeForest had 10 points and four rebounds.
WOODBRIDGE 44, PORTOLA 32: The Warriors (9-3, 8-3) were led by Ashley Cheng with 20 points and Elyse Arragon with six points in the Pacific Coast League game.
Portola is 9-2 in league and plays Beckman Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at home.
