Pacifica 6, Oaks Christian 3: The Mariners advance into the finals next weekend vs. Norco at Bill Barber Park.

Capistrano Valley 14, Kennedy 4: The Cougars move into the championship game next weekend against Santiago Corona.

Fullerton 8, Burroughs Burbank 1: The Knights advance into the championship against Foothill.

Foothill 4, Santa Fe 0: The Knights move on to the championship game vs. Fullerton.

DIVISION 5

Irvine 5, Santa Paula 4: Coach Jim Knapp’s team advances into the CIF finals vs. Liberty. Irvine’s last appearance in the CIF finals was 1993 when the Vaqueros lost to Laguna Hills 5-4 in the Division III game. In 1991, Coach Lisa Baker’s team defeated Foothill 1-0 in the 4A title game.

Top-seeded Irvine (21-10) gets to play the finals either Friday or Saturday at Bill Barber Park vs. Liberty.

Reese Villanueva went 4 for 4 with two RBI and a run scored and Hyli DeLosSantos gave up four runs (two earned) in the win. Santa Paula took a two run lead in the first inning on a three-base throwing error. Irvine got one run back when Villanueva doubled and was driven in by Harper Vandermolen.

Santa Paula (24-6) made it 3-1 with a run in the third inning and an RBI groundout and then moved ahead 4-1 in the top of the sixth on a home run by Liliana Arana the bottom of the sixth, Irvine scored four runs on a double by Sienna Porter and a single by Abby Sasaki and bases loaded walks to Shelby Crowe and Katie Liu. Then with two outs, VIllanueva hit a two-run single for the tying and go-ahead run.

Liberty 6, Northwood 3: Northwood fans were hoping for a Timberwolves’ win and a match-up with Pacific Coast League rival Irvine in the finals. Northwood (14-8) led 2-0 in the fourth inning and 3-1 in the fifth inning before Liberty rallied for the win.

Village Christian 7, St. Joseph Lakewood 4

Ontario 10, Baldwin Park 3

Ganesha 15, Tahquitz 3

Days and times for the CIF finals at Bill Barber Park will be announced next week by CIF officials. Games will be held Friday, May 19 and Saturday, May 20.
