It was an exciting quarterfinal round of the CIF football playoffs Friday night.
OC Sports Zone was on hand to cover some of the games and provided updates on alll of them, including the Division 1 opening round games.
We also had follow-up coverage on Saturday.
Now, teams, including Corona del Mar, prepare for the semifinal round. The Sea Kings, coached by Dan OShea, take on Alemany Friday night in the Division 3 semifinals and with a victory would move on to face the winner of the La Habra-Grace Brethren semifinal the following week in the championship.
Orange, Cypress, Esperanza, Katella, Loara, Newport Harbor, San Clemente, Trabuco Hills, Sunny Hills, Mater Dei and Marina are among the other teams in the semifinals this weekend.
