Century’s boys basketball team opened Orange League play Tuesday night, defeating Katella 75-44 at Katella.
Rodrigo Ramirez scored 27 points, Damian Martinez had 15 points, Tyler Thomas 14 points and Eduardo Sorto 12 points to lead Century (10-8).
Crean Lutheran 56, Kennedy 34: The Saints won their Empire League opener. Drew Yezbak and Josh Shin had 20 points each to lead Crean Lutheran (9-6). Issac Kim had eight points in his first start for the Saints.
Beckman 60, Portola 49: Beckman opened defense of its PCL title with a win at Portola. Ethan Bozzo scored 13 points, Duwon Kim had 12 and Jake Morrison and Justin Wood 10 points each for the Patriots (9-10, 1-0).
Woodbridge 64, Irvine 33: The Warriors opened Pacific Coast League play with a victory. Nygle Williams and Steven Mimpaya scored 14 points each to lead Woodbridge (3-14, 1-0). Josh Sanjongco added 10 for the Warriors.
Foothill 54, Yorba Linda 53: The Knights (9-10) won the Century League crossover game. Mikey Mazurie scored 16 points and Jacob Horton 14 points to lead Foothill. Yorba Linda (10-9) was led by Joshua Flores with 12 points.
Capistrano Valley Christian 67, Saddleback Valley Christian 55: The Eagles captured their San Joaquin League opener. Mac West had 15 points, Addy G’Bye 14 points, Luke Powell 12 points and 12 rebounds and Bence Duka 10 points to lead the Eagles.
