Corona del Mar’s baseball team captured a 5-2 victory over Tesoro Monday in the Newport Elks Tournament.
Jack Bolt pitched six innings allowing only two hits and no runs while striking out four to improve his record to 2-0.
Jack Salmon hit a 2-run home run and Matt DeCrona and Nico DiFerdinando both had big RBI doubles for CdM (5-2 overall).
The Sea Kings are 3-0 in the tournament and host Roosevelt Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. in the fourth game.
“Jack was really good for us on the mound today,” said CdM Coach Kevin McCaffrey. “He competed all game and kept a good team off balance all afternoon. Jack Salmon hit his first varsity home run to get us going offensively. He has been working hard and it is good to see him get a positive result.”
