Corona del Mar’s baseball team won its fourth game in a row to start the Wave League season, defeating Marina 4-0 Tuesday at CdM.
Keller Strauss (4-1) pitched six innings allowing three hits while striking out nine to record the win for the Sea Kings (14-4 overall).
CdM was led by Max Lane on offense. He went 2 for 3 with three RBI. Blake Butcher, Ethan Watson and Matt DeCrona all had two hits.
“Keller was great all afternoon,” said CdM Coach Kevin McCaffrey. “He was able to use all of his pitches to keep a good team off balance. Max had two huge hits for us. It was good for us to get a few hits early in the game as their pitcher Connor Wylde is very good.”
The teams play again Thursday at 3:15 p.m. at Marina.
