Beckman High’s girls volleyball team wrapped up the first round of Pacific Coast League play Tuesday night defeating Irvine in three sets.
The scores were 25-11, 25-14, 25-7.
“We have now completed the first round of league matches and are 6-0 without dropping a set,” said Beckman Coach Darin McBain.
Junior middle blocker Emily Kyle and junior outside hitter Maddi Graves led Beckman with seven kills each. Kyle also had two blocks and one ace. Graves also had two blocks.
Sophomore setter Joy Lee had five aces and “is going to beat our single-season all time ace record this season,” said McBain.
“We started the season strong and we’re ranked very highly in Orange County early on,” he said. “We have since fallen back to the pack a little bit, but we have been improving this past week and I’m excited about the second half of league and a deep CIF (playoff) run.”
