BECKMAN 5, LAGUNA HILLS 1: Zach Ireland threw a complete game 3-hitter striking out six for Pacific Coast League leader Beckman (10-2, 8-1). It was Ireland’s third victory of the season. Ashton Kanegae and Cameron Do-Khanh each had two hits. Kanegae had two doubles, and Do-Khanh had one double. Beckman scored four runs in the second inning on five hits. Laguna Hills is 5-8-1 and 3-6 in the PCL.
ESTANCIA 21, SADDLEBACK 2: The Eagles captured an Orange Coast League victory Wednesday. It was 100th career victory for Estancia coach Nate Goellrich, who is back for his second stint as Eagles coach. He’s coached at Estancia for seven years total. Estancia boosters honored him after the game.
Estancia (14-2, 2-2) got a strong pitching performance from Miles Moyer, who improved his record to 4-0 pitching two hitless innings and striking out two.
James De La O was 3 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBI, Blake Peck was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, an RBI and a double, Riley Witte was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, three RBI and a home run and Drew Mits was 3 for 3 with three runs scored, three RBI and a home run.
TRABUCO HILLS 6, ALISO NIGUEL 1: The Mustangs (11-2, 3-0) were led by pitcher Tyler Byrns, who pitched his third complete game, striking out six and allowing no earned runs. Garrett Strenger was 3 for 3 with a single, double, triple and four RBI; Nick Perez and Will Burns were 1 for 2 and Joey Gray was 1 for 2 with an RBI.
FULLERTON 5, EL RANCHO 4: The Tribe (12-3) wrapped up the Lions Tournament finishing with a 4-1 record. Kyle Kim was 3 for 3 with a double and two runs scored and Conor Sunderland hit his third home run of the year.
UNIVERSITY 7, IRVINE 6: The Trojans notched a Pacific Coast League victory Wednesday at Uni. University (5-9-1, 3-6) was led by Alex Zive, who had a hit and two RBI, Cooper Berger, who had a hit and three RBI and Austin Barnett and Aaron Millman, who scored two runs each.
Cooper Berger pitched four innings for the Trojans, striking out five. Logan Rome pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing one earned run and Jack McKenzie pitched 1/3 innings, striking out one.
Irvine (4-10, 4-5) was led offensively by Caden Shaffer who was 2 for 4 with four RBI, a home run and two doubles; Tate Zimmerman, who was 2 for 4 with a run scored; Nathan Valencia, who was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Jeremiah Gedeon, who was 1 for 1 with an RBI. Bryan Wilhelm scored three runs.
NORTHWOOD 11, PORTOLA 10: The Timberwolves won a PCL game Wednesday. Adam Harper was 3 for 4 with two runs scored to lead Northwood (5-8, 5-4). Rylan Littlejohn was 2 for 4 and scored two runs, Jon Cilderman was 1 for 4 with three RBI and earned the win on the mound. Cal Euper was 2 for 3 with an RBI and recorded the save
SERVITE 6, SANTA MARGARITA 3: The Friars (7-3, 2-3) were led by Mikiah Negrete, who allowed three hits, one run and strick out seven. Jonathan Rodriguez had three RBI and Jarrod Hocking and Roman Martin had an RBI each.
