It’s been a memorable season for the Beckman boys volleyball team which clinched its first Pacific Coast League title Tuesday night by defeating second place Woodbridge in three sets.

The Patriots are 23-7 overall and 8-0 in league play.

“The boys are very excited to hang the first boys volleyball banner in our gym, following the girls accomplishing the same this past season,” said Beckman Coach Darin McBain.

“We feel that we have a very good chance at making a deep run in the CIF playoffs this year.”

The Patriots’ top player has been 6-9 outside hitter Karl Stenlund, who has committed to play at Long Beach State, “following Spencer Olivier, who moved on to LBSU two years ago and won a ring last season with the 49ers.”

Beckman’s other potential first team all-league players include senior libero David Sawada, senior middle blocker Aaman Soma, junior setter Jonah Park and senior opposite hitter Walid Sadiq, McBain said.

“Sophomore middle blocker Jake Morrison and senior outside hitter Kalob Partida (transfer from Tustin HS) have also made big contributions,” McBain said.
