Shandon Sharifi led Northwood with 31 points before fouling out and teammate Amit Flint stepped up with some clutch play in the final minute.
“I took control, I hit two free throws,” said Flint, who had 17 points.
San Ramon then missed two free throw attempts and Northwood worked the ball to Flint who made a 15-foot jumper with two seconds left.
“All game I’ve been hitting mid-range shots,” said Flint. “I knew I was going to pull up for a mid-range and it went in.”
The victory evened Northwood’s record at 1-1 in the tournament.
“We’re 4-11 right now and we had a tough loss yesterday,” Flint said. “It feels good to win.”
Trent Harper had seven points and 13 rebounds for Northwood which won the game with a strong defensive effort.
