UPDATES:
Division 3: Santa Barbara 10, Northwood 9 (Final)
Schurr 7, Beckman 5 (Final)
It’s going to be a big week for Orange County high school boys water polo teams.
Semifinals for all divisions will be on Wednesday with the finals on Saturday at the William Woollett Aquatics Complex in Irvine.
Wednesday’s semifinals at the Woollett Center include Division 1 match-ups between Loyola (24-5) and Newport Harbor (24-3) at 5 p.m. and top-seeded Harvard Westlake (26-2) and Huntington Beach (18-8) at 7 p.m.
Also on Wednesday, Pacific Coast League teams Northwood and Beckman will be playing at the same time in two different semifinals (the facility has two pools) at 3:30 p.m. in the Division 3 semifinals.
Northwood will face Santa Barbara while Beckman will meet Schurr, which upset top seeded Long Beach Wilson 11-10 on Saturday. Northwood’s match will be on the left side of the facility and Beckman, which advanced with an 8-7 victory over Notre Dame Sherman Oaks Saturday, will play on the right side.
Coach Kyle Kim-E’s Northwood team advanced with an 6-5 victory in overtime over Westlake in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
A victory by both Northwood and Beckman would make for an All-PCL final on Saturday at the Woollett Center. Beckman took two of three matches from Northwood this year, including one win in the South Coast Tournament.
Another Pacific Coast League team, Woodbridge, was trying to reach the semifinals but the Wariors lost to Mira Costa 8-7 in the quarterfinal round.
Jim Brumm’s defending CIF Division 2 champion Foothill is back in the CIF Division 2 semifinals Wednesday to face Palos Verdes.
The semifinals for the first three divisions will be at the Woollett Center and matches will be played in both of the pools at the Irvine facility.
