Orange County high school football standouts for week nine, based on OC Sports Zone’s coverage, submissions from coaches and posts on X:
Noah Nam, Beckman: The Patriots quarterback completed 9 of 10 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns in the 48-27 Lambda League victory over Valencia, helping Beckman clinch at least a share of the league title, the first since 2011.
Makhi Czaykowski, Beckman: The Patriot running back had four carries for 67 yards and one touchdown and one TD reception in the win.
Noah Lewis, Pacifica: The Mariners running back rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 18 yards and a touchdown in a 42-0 victory over Katella. Pacifica is tied for first place with Portola. The two teams play for the league title Thursday at Bolsa Grande.
Ma’Kai Brown, Pacifica: Brown rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown in the win over Katella.
Maxwell Mapstone, Portola: He had 29 total tackles, 11 solos and 18 assisted and one tackle for a loss in Portola’s 28-26 Omicron League victory over Buena Park. He also made the stop on the two-point conversion which would have tied the game.
Malachi Moore, Portola: Moore had two receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown, three tackles on defense and a big pass deflection to prevent a touchdown.
Diego Reyna, Portola: Reyna had four carries for 70 yards and 11 total tackles, four solos and seven assisted, two tackles for a loss and one sack for the Bulldogs, who are tied with Pacifica for first place.
Henry Vega, Godinez: Vega rushed for 238 yards on 28 carries with four touchdowns in a 36-18 Zeta League win over Savanna and was named Co-Grizzly of the week.
Mateo Picou, Godinez: The defensive end had six tackles, one assisted and three sacks. He was named co-Grizzly of the week.
Eli Bray, Crean Lutheran: Bray rushed for 74 yards on nine carries for an 8.2-yard average in the Saints 38-14 Epsilon League victory over Huntington Beach to earn the offensive player of the game honors for the Saints. Crean Lutheran clinched a playoff berth with the win.
Dylan D’Epifanio, Crean Lutheran: The freshman quarterback had another solid game, completing 15 of 24 passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Rudy Alcala, Troy: The Warriors quarterback threw four touchdown passes to help Troy defeat Irvine 49-13 in an Iota League game. Troy clinched a share of the league title with the win.
Ethan Mundt, Troy: Mundt rushed for 191 yards and a TD in the win over Irvine.
Matt Peters, Calvary Chapel: The Eagles quarterback completed 8 of 14 passes for 96 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 225 yards on 11 carries and three touchdowns and had 123 return yards.
Andre Scott, Saddleback: The Roadrunners quarterback completed 12 passes for 310 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-21 Zeta League victory over Century. He also rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown. Saddleback clinched the league title with the win.
Andrew Alvarez, Saddleback: The receiver caught seven passes for 142 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Noe Najera, Century: The Centurions running back rushed for 194 yards and ran for a TD and caught a touchdown pass in the loss to Saddleback.
Cullen Doyle, Brea Olinda: The Wildcats quarterback completed 13 of 27 passes for 245 yards and two touchdowns in a 30-18 Kappa League victory over Segerstrom. Brea Olinda, 9-0 overall, clinched a share of the league title.
Noah Tagaloa, Segerstrom: The Jaguars running back rushed for a career high 233 yards on 17 carries including a 53-yard TD run in the loss to Brea Olinda.
Caden Jones, Woodbridge: The Warrior quarterback completed 13 of 22 passes for 122 yards in a 19-14 Omicron League victory over University.
