Los Amigos High School’s football team broke open a one-score game in the fourth quarter with three late touchdowns to defeat University 33-14 Thursday night at Garden Grove High School.
The Lobos (3-0) had 347 yards on the ground primarily behind running backs Isaac Galindo (two scores) and Raul Cruz. Cruz also scored on a 75-yard screen pass in the second quarter which was the only pass reception for the Lobos. On defense Cruz recorded three sacks and recovered a fumble.
University (0-2) passed for 206 yards (156 from Justin Tribble) and reached the red zone four times, scoring just once, a 5-yard Tribble to Geoff Soriano touchdown strike. Carl Oldham passed the century mark again with eight catches for 144 yards including a 51-yard scoring pass from Dylan Elmer.
University was victimized by three turnovers.
