Portola High School’s standout four-sport athlete Jadyn Zdanavage said Sunday she has committed to attend University of Michigan and compete in cross country and track.

Zdanavage, a senior, has also been an All-CIF and USA Lacrosse All-American player for two years and a member of the Bulldogs varsity girls basketball team.

She had visits with Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Boise State and the University of Michigan.

Through her family, the Portola athlete issued a statement Sunday to OC Sports Zone:

“After careful consideration and prayer, I have committed to further my cross country and track career, as well as my academic studies, at the University of Michigan.

“This decision was extremely difficult for me to make. It was a pleasure getting to know the coaching staffs and athletes at Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Boise State, but the combination of a championship program, amazing coaching staff, great team atmosphere and the town of Ann Arbor made Michigan stand out and feel the most like home.

“The University of Michigan and the Big Ten have a long history of success in cross country and track, and I look forward to being a part of it.”

Zdanavage has been a two-time Pacific Coast League cross country champion. She was the 2022 Pacific Coast League 800-meter champion and in 2019, she was all-state in cross country.
