The day will start with warm-ups and batting practice at 9 a.m.. followed by a dedication ceremony for Atkins and Wallach at 10 a.m. and then the alumni game at 11 a.m. featuring the alumni vs. the Uni varsity team.

A luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to noon.

There is no charge to play in the game. Registration for the lunch should be made by going to the program’s website: uhsbaseball.org and the deadline is Jan. 23.

Atkins, who had 99 career home runs, played Major League baseball for the Colorado Rockies and Baltimore Orioles and played for UCLA before that.

Wallach, a five-time all-star, played in the Major Leagues for 17 seasons with the Montreal Expos, Dodgers and Angels and also coached for the Dodgers and Miami Marlins.

Both players are scheduled to be at the event, according to former University Coach Chris Conlin.
