CIF PLAYOFFS: Mater Dei, Costa Mesa and Capo Valley advance to semis; final scores

MATER DEI 62, HARVARD WESTLAKE 57: The No. 3-seeded Monarchs evened their record at 1-1 with a victory in the open division Tuesday night at Mater Dei. Harrison Hornery had 26 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and one block to lead Mater Dei. Nick Davidson had 22 points, 12 rebounds and five assists and two blocks for Mater Dei, which plays at Corona Centennial Friday night..

COSTA MESA 67, EL MONTE 61: The Mustangs advanced to the CIF 5AA semifinals for the first time in school history. Aiden Spallone led the way with 14 points, eight rebounds. Gio Quero had 13 points, Blake Wolf 12 points and 10 rebounds and Jordan Martin had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

CAPISTRANO VALLEY 57, JSERRA 50: Coach Brian Mulligan’s Cougars advanced to the Division 1 semifinals Friday with a victory at home.

BURBANK 79, FOOTHILL 73 (double OT): The Knights finished the season 19-5, falling the quarterfinal round of the CIF 3A playoffs Tuesday night. Jake Horton scored 25 points, Cruz Billings had 16 points and Austin Overn 12 points to lead Foothill.
