Yorba Linda’s boys basketball team captured its second win out of the gates, defeating Troy 55-53 Tuesday night in a nonleague game.
The Mustangs were led by Luke Ishikawa who scored 25 points and made 7 of 8 three-pointers. Jason Casacchia added 13 points for Yorba Linda.
Yorba Linda led 28-24 at halftime and withstood a fourth quarter run by Troy to hold on for the win.
Pierre Haywood scored 17 points and Rohun Patel 12 points to lead Troy.
BECKMAN 51, LAGUNA HILLS 37: The Patriots won their Pacific Coast League opener. Jake Morrison scored 15 points, Ethan Bozzo had 13 points and Dowon Kim 13 points to lead Beckman (1-1).
Beckman lost to Capistrano Valley last week in a nonleague game, plays at St. John Bosco on Thursday and Canyon on Friday.
“We are playing as hard of a nonleague schedule as possible,” said Coach John Goins.
