Yorba Linda, Canyon and Beckman notch tourney wins; Orange and Tesoro win too

Yorba Linda’s boys basketball team edged Kennedy 48-46 Tuesday in the second round of the Rumble for Rosecrans Tournament at Sunny Hills.

Connor Platt scored 11 points and Omair Memon added 10 points for the Mustangs.

Beckman 66, El Dorado 64: Shervin Ghazimorad led Beckman (1-0) with 17 points. Jake Morrison had 15 points for the Patriots, who meet Long Beach Jordan Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. at Norwalk High.

Canyon 78, Claremont 31

Sonora 85, Barstow 51

Damien 77, Troy 51: Kyle Pham scored 21 points and Xylon Ward scored 12 for Troy.

Orange 52, Magnolia 42: Orange was led by Marco Silva with 14 points. Johnathan Tapia had six points, eight rebounds, seven steals and three blocks.

Tesoro 73, Orange Vista 54: Kaden Garrett scored 23 points to lead the Titans. Matt DeAngelo had 18 points and Mike Mahlen 17 points.
