Beverly Braun of Woodbridge kills a ball during Thursday’s match.
Woodbridge’s girls volleyball team captured a nonleague victory Thursday evening, defeating Marina in four sets at Woodbridge.
The scores were 25-16, 25-14, 25-27, 25-16.
Beverly Braun led Woodbridge with 14 kills. Madison Lyon and Madelaine Leitman had 10 kills each.
“We had a big emphasis on being mentally tough; learning how to rebound from plays where we get beat or when a call goes against us and not letting that break us,” said Coach Alan Ho.
“We got some of our younger girls an opportunity to get some experience and I liked the way the were able to bounce back from a couple of bad stretches.”
