Woodbridge, Beckman and Irvine registered Pacific Coast League baseball victories on Thursday.

Beckman moved into a tie for second with Laguna Hills, one game back of Woodbridge with a victory over University.
BECKMAN 3, UNIVERSITY 0: Beckman (6-2) got an outstanding effort on the mound from Zach Ireland, who recorded his second win without a loss. He threw five innings and allowwed four hits and no runs, according to Patriots Coach Kevin Lavalle.
Lucas Welch came on to pitch the seventh inning to notch the save, striking out two.
IRVINE 20, PORTOLA 1: Irvine improved its record to 4-4.
“It was really just a day where everything clicked and the ball bounced our way,” said Irvine Coach Gabriel Cota. “We have been working hard to find out identity and today was a good day for that.”
Patrick Hackworth, Jordan Raymond, Tate Zimmerman and Sawyer Spivey all went 3 for 3 to lead the Vaqueros. Kade Zimmerman had four RBI. Patrick Hackworth, Caden Shaffer and Sawyer Spivey all had three RBI as well.
Tate Zimmerman and Kade Zimmerman are also players on the Irvine football team.
“Spivey led us on the mound throwing four innings allowing three hits with five strikeouts,” Cota said..
