Woodbridge High’s girls basketball team defeated Beckman 53-47 in overtime Friday evening in a playoff game for third place in the Pacific Coast League to earn the league’s third spot in the CIF playoffs.
Erika Maggard scored 21 points, Tiffany Nguyen had 10 points and Anna Jensen seven points to lead the Warriors (17-11, 7-4).
Jensen hit a 3-pointer in the corner with under two minutes left in overtime to put Woodbridge up by five points and Maggard hit two free throws to secure the win. Maggard also surpassed 1,700 points in her four-year career, according to Woodbridge Coach Keith Clarkson.
Beckman (16-10, 6-5) finishes in fourth place but can petition for an at-large berth in the playoffs.
