Highlights and finals for Saturday OC boys basketball tourneys and non-league games

TOURNAMENTS:

CALIFORNIA TOURNAMENT:

Cal High 60, Kennedy 39: Cal was led by Luke Sanchez who had 12 points in a consolation round game at the California Tournament Saturday. Jordan Sem had 11 points for Kennedy.

Esperanza 68, Warren 58: The Aztecs won the consolation championship at the California Tournament Saturday. Paul Campos had 15 points to lead Esperanza. Warren was led by Brian Demedio with 21 points.

Damien 58, Fountain Valley 48: Nate Garcia scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Damien to the tourney title. Eli Garner had 10 points and Elijah Brown nine points for Damien. Garcia, Xavier Clinton and Garner were named to the all-tournament team.

Yorba Linda 56, Sunny Hills 54: Yorba Linda (10-2) won the championship at the Loara Tournament Saturday. Jake Hansen scored 10 points, Tanner Yoon scored nine points, Jordan J. Laws had eight points to lead Yorba Linda. Chad Nguyen and Sean Cal had 10 points each for Sunny Hills (10-3).

Yoon of Yorba Linda was MVP and teammates Orlando Laws and Cayley Jang were all-tournament.

Pacifica Christian 72, Taft 56:The Tritons (8-2) won a first-round game at the Mission Prep Christmas Classic. EJ Spillman scored 19 points and had four assists and Parker Strauss 18 points, eight rebounds and six assists to lead the Tritons.

NOTES:

…..Alex Van Otterloo and Caleb Palmer of Esperanza were named to the all-tournament team at the California Tournament.

NON-LEAGUE:

Foothill 67, Katella 45: The Knights won a non-league game Saturday night. Carlo Billings had 15 points and three rebounds, Travis Paleo scored 10 points and Danny Kennard had nine points and four rebounds. Foothill (10-1) defeated Tustin 50-34 Friday night. Click here for photos.

La Habra 68, Cypress 59: The Highlanders earned a road victory Saturday night over the Centurions. Acen Jiminez scored 27 points, grabbed six rebounds and had five assists to led La Habra. Sebastian Esparza had 17 points and four assists and Jaedeon Anderson 11 points and five rebounds for La Habra.

Buena Park 61, Irvine 56

Cerritos 60, Villa Park 56
