It’s looking like the weather should be better Friday and into the weekend allowing a number of Orange County teams to play makeup games which were postponed due to the heavy rains in Southern California.
Some of the games will be Thursday, March 23, weather permitting and if field conditions are playable. Others are scheduled for Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25.
The latest:
—Football and El Modena are scheduled to play a Crestview League game Thursday at 3:15 p.m. at El Modena. The game was originally scheduled for Foothill. Foothill is 6-4 overall and El Modena (8-3). Andrew Harbour is the scheduled pitcher for Foothill.
—Villa Park is scheduled to play El Dorado Thursday at 6 p.m. at JSerra. Brandon Luu (3-0) gets the start for Villa Park.
—-Santa Ana and Estancia will play a makeup Orange Coast League doubleheader Friday at noon at Santa Ana. Santa Ana will also have a makeup game vs. St. Margaret’s Saturday at 11 a.m.
—Corona del Mar is set to host Marina Thursday at 3:15 p.m.
–Pacific Coast League leader Woodbridge will play at Laguna Hills on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. The teams will also play Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Ryan Lemmon Stadium and Saturday at 11 a.m. at Laguna Hills. Matt Kuromoto, who threw a no-hitter against Irvine last week, is the scheduled starter for Woodbridge.
—The start of the Irvine vs. Beckman Pacific Coast League series has been delayed by one day. It starts Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Irvine. The two teams will play a doubleheader Saturday at Beckman beginning at 11 a.m.
—The Northwood-University PCL series has also been delayed by one day. The teams will play Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Uni, then have a doubleheader Saturday at noon at Northwood, according to Northwood Coach Doug Euper.
