Seniors Justin Tribble and Carl Oldham led University’s football team to a 35-14 victory over Katella Friday night in an Omicron League finale at historic Glover Stadium.
Tribble completed 11 of 14 passes for 201 yards and four touchdowns for Uni (4-6, 1-4).
Oldham caught seven of those passes for 142 yards for three scores. It was his third 140 plus yard receiving game this season. Jake Rabold also caught a 26-yard touchdown pass while Damari Carter carried the ball 12 times for 100 yards.
Katella (1-9, 0-5) put on quite an offensive show out-gaining the Trojans, 313 yards to 292 and achieving more first downs (17 to 14) including four successful fourth down conversions.
The Knights did commit two turnovers, one a costly 18-yard scoop and score by Adham Osman 22 seconds before halftime giving University a 28-6 halftime lead.
Katella was led by Isaac Sanchez who accounted for 191 all purpose yards (89 rushing including a touchdown, 73 receiving and 27 passing). Adam Haqi ran the ball 23 times for 118 yards and one touchdown.
