Corona del Mar High School sports teams will be able to use two new lighted fields after the holiday break, according to Athletic Director Dennis Wilbanks.

The larger field has stands on one side and will likely be used for football and track and field, Wilbanks said. But plans are still being finalized which teams use the fields. Lacrosse and soccer practices will also be held on the fields.
“All levels can use either field for games and practices,” he said.
The varsity football team will still play its home games at Davidson Field on the Newport Harbor campus, Wilbanks said.
“I think these fields with lights are a huge boost to all the sports and performing arts programs for games, practices and conditioning,” Wilbanks said.
It is not known when the fields will be used for competition since the CIF State office has postponed a decision on the start of high school sports because of the coronavirus pandemic as it waits for guidelines from the California Department of Public Health.
