Tustin’s football team is back in the CIF Division 6 playoffs and ready to take on top-seeded South Hills Thursday night at 7 at South Hills in the opening round.
South Hills (10-0) was the Hacienda League champion. Tustin (4-6) is an at-large team out of the Empire League.
“We’re happy to be in the playoffs once again,” said Tustin Coach Myron Miller. “South Hills plays fast and aggressive on both sides of the ball and will be a challenge to us as they are the number one seed in the division.
“As with any week, we have to put together a solid week of practice and execute during the game to give ourselves a chance.”
Tustin is led by junior Mike Rodriguez who has rushed for 905 yards and 10 touchdowns and senior Nick Mierez who has rushed for 295 yards and five touchdowns.
