Haley DeSales had a career-high 23 digs in UC Irvine’s 3-1 loss to Texas Tech at the UCI/Adidas Women’s Volleyball Invitational at the Bren Events Center Saturday.
Texas Tech dropped the first set 23-25 then came back to win the final three: 25-13, 25-18 and 25-22.
The Anteaters went 0-3 at their home tournament and fell to 1-5 overall. Texas Tech went 2-1 in Irvine and is 6-1 overall.
Outside hitter Loryn Carter topped UCI with 14 kills, while adding two aces and two block assists. Carter was named to the all-tournament team after leading UCI in kills in two of the three matches.
UCI will travel to the Cleveland State Invitational next weekend,
