Tesoro High School guard Carson Brown, who set career and season scoring records for the Titans, has committed to play basketball at Concordia University Irvine, according to Tesoro Coach Steve Garrett.
Brown led the Titans to the CIF 2AA championship last season. He was all-state Division 2, All-CIF player of the year, first team all-county and South Coast League player of the year.
He set the record for most career points at Tesoro (1,508) and in a season (812) and also set the season record for most field goals (300) and 3-point shots made (84).
“Carson leaves Tesoro as the best guard in the history of the school,” Garrett said. “Not only because of exceptional scoring achievements and records, but equally the accomplishments with his teammates: CIF champion and back to back South Coast League champions. Carson is a winner on and off the court.”
Garrett added that Brown had some Division 1 offers but was impressed with Concordia Coach Ken Ammann and his staff.
