Capistrano Valley High School’s football players are preparing for the start of the 2021 season opener Friday, Aug. 20 against Arrowhead Christian.
Coach Eric Preszler said he’s looking forward to leading the team. Capo Valley Christian did not compete in the abbreviated spring season.
“We are looking forward to a football season without distractions,” Preszler said. “Our team is young but I’m confident in our toughness and work ethic.”
Several players are expected to lead the way for the Eagles, the coach said.
“Senior Safety/running back Kaden Manrique looks to make up for lost time from 2020 and is supported by freshmen phenoms, quarterback Nate Richie and tight end/linebacker Jack Gallo,” said Preszler, who is also the athletic director.
Junior Jack Leetzow is expected to be the team’s top lineman.
Capo Valley Christian has four starters returning on offense and six on defense, Preszler said.
