Sonora’s successful football season ended Thursday night when Vista Del Lago put together a strong second half for a 21-7 victory over the Raiders in the CIF Division 9 quarterfinals at La Habra.
Coach Kevin Oberlander paid tribute to his seniors after the game.
Sonora finished the season 9-3 while Vista Del Lago (9-3) moves into the semifinals.
After falling behind 7-0, Sonora tied the game on a TD pass from quarterback Landon Martin to Olin Morales-Hyder late in the second half.
The teams were tied 7-7 at halftime before Vista Del Lago scored two second half TDs.
