“We played really hard tonight,” said Segerstrom Coach Joseph Tagaloa. “Each week we try to get better and compete every snap.
“Our offense was led by Alex Sanchez who led our team in rushing and Angel Vega who connected with Iverson Fuiava twice and Andrew Schouw for touchdowns.
“Andrew Schouw also returned and punt for a TD.”
The defense was also tough, Tagaloa said.
“Defensively we flew around causing multiple turnovers,” he said. “David Gallegos recovered two fumbles that set up two scoring drives.”
University, which has a forfeit victory, fell to 1-4. The Trojans open Pacific Coast League play next Friday hosting Northwood (4-1).
“Thomas Keeling threw the ball well throwing for 198 yards,” said University Coach Scott Meyer. “Our receivers dropped quite a few catch-able balls that would have helped quite a bit. We are excited to start league this week.” Â
