Santa Ana’s Patrick McMorris and seven teammates along with Woodbridge’s Jacob Nash earn All-CIF Division 8 honors

Eight members of the Santa Ana High football team were named to the All-CIF Division 8 first team selected by the Football Coaches Association which was announced on Monday.

Santa Ana back Patrick McMorris, who committed last week to San Diego State (please click here to see the story) was joined on the offense by linemen Marcos Barriga and Jhon Ramirez and quarterback Julian Gomez, who was listed as utility.

Woodbridge receiver Jacob Nash, the most valuable player of the Pacific Coast League and the OC Sports Zone all Irvine team, was also named to first team offensive team.

Santa Ana also had four players named to the first team defense: backs Drew Ramirez and Bryan Guevara, linebacker Zennen Flores and lineman Nick Larriva (who has committed to Idaho State).

The offensive player of the year was Kaiser running back Christian Hunter, who led Kaiser to the CIF Division 8 title, the defensive player of the year was linebacker Jake Medders of Arcadia and the coach of the year was Bill Cardosi from Kaiser.
