Saddleback High’s girls basketball team, which captured the Orange Coast League title outright last week, capped a perfect league campaign, the first in the school’s history, Wednesday night.
The Roadrunners (19-8 overall) defeated Santa Ana 46-18 at Saddleback to put the finishing touches on a 10-0 league run.
Saddleback was led by sophomore Karime Lopez, who had 12 points, 13 rebounds and five assists; sophomore Kendrah Lopez, who had nine rebounds, five assists and seven steals and senior Maria Martinez, who had 11 points and 10 rebounds.
“It’s the first time in school history going undefeated in league,” said Coach Dan Lara, who led the team along with Coach Al Martinez.
The Roadrunners open the CIF 4A playoffs at home next week.
