Saddleback’s girls basketball team clinched at least a share of the Orange Coast League title with a 51-42 victory over Calvary Chapel Tuesday night at Calvary Chapel.
The Roadrunners (16-8, 7-0) have a three-game lead with three games remaining. Saddleback, led by coaches Al Martinez, Dan Lara and Muna Osisioma can win the title outright with a victory Thursday night at Costa Mesa.
Kayleen Palomino scored seven points and had nine rebounds, sophomore Kendra Lopez had 11 points and eight rebounds, senior Karla Gutierrez scored 15 points and had four rebounds and senior Maria Martinez had six points and seven rebounds to lead Saddleback.
Woodbridge 50, Northwood 35: The Warriors (16-8, 6-1) remained tied for first place in the Pacific Coast League. Erika Maggard scored 24 points, Ashley Cheng had seven points and Averi Nguyen six points to lead Woodbridge.
University 46, Portola 34: The Trojans remained in a tie for first place with Woodbridge in the Pacific Coast League. Claire Kawata scored 15 points and Giulia Roy 14 points to lead University. The Trojans (11-14, 6-1) outscored Portola 46-34 in the final quarter.
