One of the players leading Foothill’s surge the past few weeks has been senior linebacker Dylan Ventress, the latest OC Sports Zone player to watch.

Ventress had 17 tackles in the Knights 19-13 victory over Brea Olinda Friday which gave Foothill a share of the North Hills League football title.

“Dylan is a huge player for us,” said Foothill Coach Doug Case. “He is our leading tackler with 76 tackles through nine games. He is also one of our team captains. He is our most physical player on the team and leads by example.

“Dylan has been great for us as a 3-year letterman. He has worked hard in the off-seasons to position himself for success. We always talk about making a deposit in your workouts so you can reap the rewards on the field. There wasn’t a harder worker on the team. He has be fantastic and I hope he has an opportunity to play on Saturdays.”

Case said Ventress is getting some looks by college teams.

“He doesn’t have anything firm yet but there are many schools following and he’ll have some options at some smaller schools because he dedicated himself as student athlete,” Case said. “I’m really excited to watch this kid finish out his high school career and follow him in college.”
