Placentia Bronco 12-and-under all-stars went undefeated over the weekend to capture the championship of the sectional tournament at Harvard Park.
Placentia defeated Irvine 12-1 in the championship game on Sunday. Both Placentia and Irvine, which won three games in a row to advance to the final, move on to the regional tournament this week at Champions Sports Complex in Placentia.
In the opener Friday, Placentia had a big first-inning and went on to defeat Santa Ana 13-1. On Saturday, the all-stars defeated Los Alamitos 12-1.
The tournament was hosted by Irvine Pony Baseball.
Placentia opens the tournament Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. vs. South Bay. Irvine’s opener is Wednesday at 7 p.m. vs. Cypress.
